Caius (pronounced Keys) is a great place to study. It's tough to get in and, once here, our students want to make the most of this special opportunity to learn. Men and women come from all over Britain and abroad and from a wide range of backgrounds. They all share lively enquiring minds and a commitment to their field of study. Graduate students come from an even wider sphere. An even larger proportion are from overseas and add to the rich diversity of College life.
Academic excellence
The University of Cambridge in general and Caius in particular provide wonderful environments for ideas and learning. Lectures in all faculties are given by academics who lead in their fields. But what makes undergraduate learning particularly special is the system of individual or small group supervisions. In these, students meet with academic staff for detailed and in-depth teaching, discussion and exchange of ideas.
Relaxation
Of course, academic excellence is paramount. But there is another side to College life. At Caius we are proud of our lively societies and clubs. From football to drama, music to rowing, most undergraduates find something else to life as well as work. When they meet over meals or in one of the College's two bars, students find there is always plenty to talk about.
College life
Students live and work in the College. Although students will spend some of their time living across the river at Harvey Court or in more outlying locations, the heart of Caius life is in the beautiful historic buildings, in the centre of town.
